Roads coordinator
employee of month
David Neylon, posted and bonded roads coordinator, has been named the PennDOT Regional district Employee of the Month for July 2011.
Neylon was recently promoted to the posted and bonded roads unit as the posted and bonded roads coordinator. He quickly learned the requirements of the permitting process and excess-maintenance agreements, a news release said. He has developed several processes and tracking spreadsheets to assist the unit. He has worked many long hours to stay on top of the requests for permits and the review of agreements and maintenance plans. He promptly takes action on roadway damage.
Neylon is very methodical in evaluating problems prior to proposing solutions, the release said. Many of the templates and forms that Neylon either developed or helped to develop have been adopted for use statewide by PennDOT. This demonstrates the work he has been doing.
Neylon, a six-year PennDOT employee, lives in Williamsport.
City insurance
agency wins award
Erie Insurance has recognized The Fischer Agency as a winner of the F.W. Hirt Quality Agency award. The award is the highest honor that can be bestowed on an Erie Insurance agency, according to a news release.
Principal agent and owner Jerry Fischer accepted the award at Erie Insurance's annual branch recognition meeting in Harrisburg. The award, named in honor of late Erie Insurance chairman and CEO, F. William Hirt, is granted only to top agencies demonstrating long-term commitment to exceptional service, performance and profitability.
The Fischer Agency, originally founded in 1966 by Jerry's father, Raymond Fischer, Sr., is located in Williamsport. Jerry Fischer took over as principal agent in 1991. "This award is a proud moment for both me and the agency staff as we're always working to be above all in service," said Fischer.
