A new garbage removal service started because of frozen trash.
Gavin Gordon had to wait for two weeks in the winter until the ground thawed enough for his trash collector to collect his garbage, after the collector already missed picking up Gordon's trash on the regular day.
"I wanted to give people better rates and service," Gordon said.

After his experience with the trash company, Gordon wanted to offer an assurance to all of his customers.
"At Gordon Disposal, we guarantee that we will pick up your garbage on your scheduled day," Gordon said. "If not, we will pick it up the next day for free."
Gordon also wanted to provide cheaper rates to entice customers. Container services are provided to those who need them. Prices are by the trash can or trash bag. Special rates for customers are available, and payment plans are also available.
In addition to garbage disposal, the business provides different sized trash cans for those who need them.
Gordon Disposal also will do basement and attic cleanouts, as well as demolition haul away.
The business currently offers service in Williamsport, Loyalsock Township, South Williamsport, Montoursville and Linden. In the future, Gordon wants to expand the business by adding more employees and more trucks, which will allow the company to remove trash from areas further away. He hopes to have a new truck by December so that he can visit Jersey Shore, Muncy, Milton and Montgomery.
So far, Gordon Disposal has been "really busy." They utilize different advertisers, such as a website, flyers and radio advertisements. They also are a member of the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Gordon Disposal maintains a social networking presence on both Facebook and Twitter.
Gordon Disposal is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but Gordon said he receives calls every day of the week.
