Couple observes 25th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Fischer, Williamsport, observed their 25th wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 2011.

They were married by the Rev. Richard J. Loch at Annunication Church. They are members of St. Boniface Church.

Mrs. Fischer, the former Karen Lorraine Slocum, is a native of Elkland. She is the daughter of Roselyn M. and Gary W. Slocum, Elkland. She graduated from Elkland High School in 1980 and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pa. She is employed by Susquehanna Health as a clerical coordinator.

Mr. Fischer, a native of Williamsport, is the son of Raymond J. Fischer, Williamsport, and the late Ruth F. Fischer. He graduated from the former Bishop Neumann High School, now St. John Neumann Regional Academy, in 1972, and received an associate degree in computer information systems from the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1988. He is employed by Geisinger Health System, Danville, as a technical analyst.

The couple is planning an October trip to Vermont.
