LEWISBURG - Multi-album independent recording artist KJ will perform during the Senior Health and Lifestyle Expo on Oct. 4 at the Silver Moon Banquet Hall.
KJ has established herself as a "positive leader and motivational musician," according to her website. Besides entertaining and speaking throughout the United States, she also has toured extensively in the British Isles - especially in her "second home" of Scotland, where she maintains a secondary base of operations.
With guitar her main instrument, KJ also often shows up with her Appalachian lap dulcimer, autoharp, Djembe drum, egg shakers or keyboard. A cappella tunes many times enter her performance, as well as many light-hearted audience participation tunes.
Now touring with her CD projects such as "Proud to be a Farmer," "Dreaming Inside Her Mind," "PonyTales," "Oliver's Quiet" (with Sweetwater Reunion Band), KJ also covers family concerts with such music CD projects as her "Simply Kids," "Agriculture Is A BIG Word (supported by the state Department of Agriculture) and "Farms, Food & Fun!"
The concert begins at 11 a.m. Admission is free. The expo will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Senior Health and Lifestyle Expo will feature products and services for residents age 50 and older. Participating exhibitors include local and regional hospitals, assisted care communities, health practitioners, insurance and financial agencies, retirement communities, energy companies and more.
According to Deborah Verderame, show coordinator, "dozens of top companies will have representatives on site to answer all your questions."
A special feature of the expo is a free "Early Bird Breakfast" prepared by Weis Markets and served from 8 to 10 a.m. in the "Boomers Cafe" - a place where visitors gather to enjoy the companionship of friends and to meet and mingle with exhibitors.
