A boutique for children has returned to Montoursville.
Shawna Schuller opened Klassy Kids Kollection, 370 Broad St., Montoursville, at the beginning of September because her parents were moving back to the borough.
"There's nothing like this in the area," she said. "They needed a boutique."

Before opening her Montoursville store, Schuller had the same shop in Nazareth for four years.
Schuller said the area residents responded positively when she opened the boutique. There used to be a children's boutique across the street from where Schuller is now, she said.
"People said they used to come to the children's boutique," she said. "Everyone's happy that a boutique is back in town."

In the shop, Schuller carries a variety of items for children.
Clothes are abundant. There are prom dresses, Christening dresses, special occasion dresses, tutus, petticoat skirts and tuxedos for sizes ranging from infants to young boys.
"(The dresses) can be used for almost anything," Schuller said. "Weddings, Sweet 16 parties, Bat Mitzvah, beauty pageant and homecoming."
Accessories also are plentiful. Schuller sells a collection of rhinestone jewelry, hair accessories, make-up bags, purses and overnight bags.
Schuller said she learned how to make the hair accessories and the tutus at various craft shows she attended.
"I do well with them," she said. "It's just something I picked up."
Another part of the shop is dedicated to Melissa and Doug toys, which includes puppets and puzzles.
Costumes that can be used for dress-up and Halloween hang on the wall for children.
Schuller said the area is supportive of her.
"The town is really behind you, especially in local business," she said. "I like it here. Why didn't I move here sooner?"
Shows like Toddlers and Tiaras that show parents entering children in beauty pageants have spiked interest in children's boutique have sparked a recent interest in the competitions.
Schuller has been involved in the beauty pageant industry for 20 years. Some of her dresses are used as pageant dresses and she helps accessorize them with matching dresses, earrings and shoes. More of the pageant sales come from her website.
"I want to push more for the store though," she said.
For parents who are interested in entering their children into a beauty pageant and do not know how, Schuller can direct them to where they can enter.
To help with accessorizing, Schuller plans to start selling shoes in the near future. Other future plans include selling children's play furniture, such as kitchen sets, and turning the back room into a dressing room.
The name Klassy Kids Kollection was inspired by Schuller's father.
"He said, 'You have a lot of classy kid's stuff," she said. "I wanted something different."
The Autumn and Winter collections have started to arrive.
Klassy Kids Kollection is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the Christmas and prom season, the store will be open to 8 p.m.
