Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Alansky, Montoursville, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 23, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Louis Garbacik at St. Mary of the Maternity Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. They are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville.
Mrs. Alansky, the former Bette Kulak, is a native of Wilkes-Barre. She is the daughter of the late Helen and Frank Kulak. She has been a volunteer for more than 31 years with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Mr. Alansky, a native of Wilkes-Barre, is the son of the late Helen and Anthony Alansky. He served in the Army and retired after 31 years as a Pennsylvania State Trooper, stationed in Montoursville.
They are the parents of a daughter, Deb Poplaski, Mechanicsburg, and a son, Len Jr., Downingtown. There are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner, hosted by their children, is being planned.
