The Community Theatre League will begin its SPROUTS theatre for children series with "Snow White," which runs Friday through next Sunday at the Community Theatre, 100 W. Third St.
The wonderful world of the Brothers Grimm is brought to life in this delightful adaptation. The story of the beautiful Snow White and her seven miniature friends is told in a fun way, and features all the old familiar characters including the Prince, the Huntsman and the Evil Queen. Throw in a hilarious palace Cat, an Enchanted Vixen and a walking, talking Magic Mirror and the fun never stops.
Audiences will marvel as the scheming Queen transforms herself into various personalities like Esmeralda, the young gypsy, and a withered Crone who tempts Snow White with a poisonous apple.
Director Leanne Brown has assembled a group of kids ages 10 to 17 to play the roles, headed up by Jillian Jackson as Snow White. The Evil Queen is played by Victoria Snyder and her wise-cracking Magic Mirror is played by Claire Mitchell.
Emily Newcomer and Liz Rebeck play the Queen's alter-egos, Esmeralda and the Crone, while Spencer Mill portrays the Prince, Brian McKeon is the Huntsman, Morgan Baker is the Cat and Arielle Roush plays the Vixen.
The seven dwarves are given some comical names, among them: Slow Poke, Snore and Gloomy Gus, portrayed by Ally Smith, Ivy Waldron, Kaleb McKeon, Anna Roush, Jarrod Houseknecht, Gabriel McKeon and Sydney Powell.
Rounding out the cast as the three Fairies are Josette Deck, Allison Lax and Alexis Griess.
Tickets are four for $25 or $8 individually.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. next Sunday. Tickets may be bought at www.ctlshows. com or by calling 327-1777.
