SAYRE - The Area Agency on Aging for the Counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Tioga Inc. recently established an Agency Endowment Fund for itself with the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers. The purpose of the fund is to support the charitable, scientific or educational purposes of the BSST AAA.
Bill Farley, executive director, said, "The BSST AAA Inc. wished to establish an endowment fund in the Foundation to provide current income and long-term protections for the operations of BSST AAA Inc. and wishes to have the benefits of such a fund."
The BSST AAA is a community resource for citizens age 60 or older residing within the counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Tioga in the Endless Mountains Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It encourages older citizens and their families to plan for their future needs by learning more about available resources and options of assistance.
BSST AAA Inc. promotes independent, healthy lifestyles for seniors and provides support for family members who may serve as their caregivers. Valuing the contributions of our senior community they rely upon their talents and expertise to help honor and serve the growing older population in the region.
"One of the goals of the CFTT is to strengthen the capacity of our nonprofit organizations by helping them establish endowment funds for the long term sustainability of their organizations," said Marilyn Bok, CEO.
The CFTT serves Bradford, Potter, Sullivan and Tioga counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State. It is a purely public charity, incorporated as a nonprofit.
The CFTT establishes endowment funds from contributions of many individual citizens, corporations, other foundations, other charitable organizations and government agencies for philanthropic purposes.
