WELLSBORO - Twelve people were sentenced in Tioga County Court Monday. According to court documents, sentenced to state prison time were:
James E. Pritchett, Jr., 45, of Tioga County Prison, Shumway Hill Road, Wellsboro, 60 months to 120 months, for sexual abuse of children and possession of child pornography, to run consecutive to any other sentence he is serving. He was charged by the chief county detective Scott Henry after Henry received information that Pritchett had images of naked children on his cell phone Sept. 28, 2010. He had been placed in prison June 16 for a probation violation.
Donald H. Ayers, 36, of 55 East Avenue, Apt. 3, Wellsboro, 24 months for obstruction of justice and possession of a controlled substance, to run concurrently with any other sentence he is serving. He was charged by Wellsboro police after he took a vehicle involved in a DUI crash and drove it to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Jan. 13, and entered a secured area of the hospital, then refused to give up the keys to law enforcement, becoming physically defensive and causing police to use force. He was found to have four baggies of 1/8th ounces of pot, two containers of methamphetamine, two morphine pills and three knives. In a second sentencing, Ayers was sentenced to 24 months in state prison and ordered to pay restitution of $810.50 to three victims for theft of a motor vehicle as well as two other counts of theft to run concurrently with any other sentence he is serving. He was charged by Wellsboro police after they investigated a burglary at the Independent Bible Church, 45 East Avenue Jan. 13 in which a guitar and a van were taken. He then removed a registration plate from a van belonging to the Penn Wells Hotel, and attached it to the stolen church van. In a third sentencing, he got 12 months probation, consecutive to the other sentences for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged by Wellsboro police Jan. 13 at his apartment, after police executed a search warrant and found 20 baggies of marijuana in a night stand, along with a package of rolling papers. In a fourth sentencing, he got 12 months probation for criminal trespass to run consecutive to the other sentences. He was charged by state police after he entered a residence at 1109 Heisey Run Road, Delmar Township, Jan. 15 and used the telephone without permission.
Gregory A. Heck, Jr., 22, of 77 Creekview Drive, Columbia Crossroads, 24 months and $839 restitution to Franklin Nichols for burglary and theft. He was charged by state police after he burglarized a garage taking a 30 pack of beer, a rifle, tools and a microwave, totaling $1,172 at 1464 East Lawrence Road, Jackson Township, Sept. 27, 2008. In a second sentencing he got 24 months in state prison for theft to run concurrent to any other sentences; and 24 months probation, plus restitution of $8,177.81 to seven victims for four counts of burglary, to run consecutive to his other sentences. He was charged by state police for burglarizing several locations in both Tioga and Bradford counties between Dec. 29, 2007 and Feb. 4, 2009, taking cash, cigarettes, tools, ATVs, a chainsaw, tree stand, spotlight, lantern and binoculars, firearms, compound bow, and 200 Oxycodone capsules.
Sentenced to Tioga County prison were:
Joseph C. Clemens, 41 days for possession of an instrument of crime, credit for time served and released on probation, fined $150, and for possession of drug paraphernalia, 12 months probation to run concurrently with the other sentencing. He was charged by Wellsboro police after they responded to 15 Kelsey Street, Wellsboro and found him with a multi-tool in his hand with screwdriver exposed, attempting to remove the locked door to the apartment to access the upstairs apartment May 18.
Sentenced to special probation for DUI were:
Kahlin M. Overdorf, 25, of 609 E. Park St., Lock Haven, 12 months. Charged by state police after he crashed his motorcycle on Route 414 near Stony Fork Road, Morris Township June 20, 2010.
Karl E. Miller, 30, of 1 Creamery Road, Liberty, 12 months. Charged by state police after he crashed his car on Route 15, Bloss Township April 19.
Bruce F. Toothaker, Jr., 48, of Hirams Lane, Covington, 12 months. Charged by state police following a traffic stop on Route 660, Covington Township May 7.
Francis E. Betts, 64, of 53 High St., Morris Run, 12 months. Charged by state police after he crashed his car on Route 2014, Hamilton Township April 14.
Bryce D. Beers, 20, of 238 Main St., Apt. 2, Blossburg, 12 months. Charged by Mansfield police following a traffic stop on East Elmira Street May 14.
Drew A. King, 21, of 121 Bullit Run Road, Howard, PA, nine months, charged by Mansfield police following a traffic stop on South Academy Street May 23.
Mark Hughes, 50, of 320 Connelly Mountain Road, Mainesburg, nine months, charged by state police following a traffic stop on Barber Road, Covington Township May 26.
