Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Barto, Hughesville, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 3, 2011.
They were married by the late Rev. George N. Young in Riverside. They are members of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Hughesville.
Mrs. Barto, the former Arlene Mae Vandine, is a native of Muncy. She is the daughter of the late Jennie and John Vandine. She is retired from the former Schnadig Corp., Montoursville, in 1991, where she was employed as an upholstery sewer.

Mr. Barto, a native of Hughesville, is the son of the late Hazel and Jacob Barto. He retired from the former Anton Waldman, Hughesville, in 1989, where he was employed as a cabinet maker.
They are the parents of two daughters, Ann Milheim, Hughesville, and Joan Hunter, Montoursville. There are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a surprise party, hosted by Ann and Scott Milheim, was held Oct. 30 at Picture Rocks Fire Hall.
