Mr. and Mrs. John Hammond, Williamsport, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 4, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Bower in Milton. They are members of Nisbet United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hammond, the former Betty Ann Sheets, is a native of Milton. She is the daughter of the late Alvaretta and Donald Sheets. She graduated from Milton High School in 1957 and Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She retired in 1995 from Divine Providence Hospital, where she was employed as a registered nurse.

MR., MRS. JOHN HAMMOND
Mr. Hammond, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., is the son of the late Lillian and Clarence Hammond. He graduated from Milton High School in 1957, the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1971, and Penn State University in 1974 with a master's degree. He served in the Army from February 1959 to April 1962. He retired in 1998 from Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he was employed as a teacher.
They are the parents of a son, John M., South Williamsport, and a daughter, Jennifer L., Williamsport. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a dinner, hosted by their family, was held Nov. 12.
