Williamsport Music Club to present program about patriotism on Tuesday

"Music Makes Connections with Patriotism" will be the theme when the Williamsport Music Club meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the YWCA, 815 W. Fourth St. The business meeting will be followed by the program "The American Dream - a dream dedicated to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,"?co-chaired by Bonnie Horn and Betsy Belcher.

Through narration and music, "Patriotism for America - our history; Praise for America - our tribute; and Pray for America - our plea," will be presented.

The audience will join in singing, "Patriot's Song" and "America, the Greatest and Best," a medley of songs that highlights the country's history. After will be "A Salute to the Armed Forces," "America the Beautiful," and "My Country 'Tis of Thee."

Barby Smith will present a vocal solo, "I'm Just a Flag-Waving American."

Next on the program will be a vocal duet by Betsy Belcher and Bonnie Horn, "It's Time to Pray." Continuing the theme will be "Prayer for America - our plea," with the addition of "Heal Our Land" and "We Gotta Get America Back to God." Also included will be a vocal duet, "Fifty Nifty United States" by Leatha Kieser and Bonnie Seltzer.

Accompanist for the evening will be Carol Waltz and the program will close with everyone joinging to sing "God Bless America," followed by refreshments.

Hostesses for the evening will be Bonnie Seltzer and Marilyn Burget. The song of the month, "Till We Meet Again," will be presented by Nancy Lady and Mary Brophy.

The public is invited to join the club to celebrate American heritage.
