Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Ward, Wellsboro, observed their 71st wedding anniversary Nov. 29, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. R.N. Dutton in Elmira, N.Y., and are members of First Baptist Church, Wellsboro.
Mrs. Ward, the former Leona Jones Ward, is a native of Elkland. She is the daughter of the late Anna and Evan Jones. She graduated from Covington High School in 1938 and is a homemaker.

Mr. Ward, a native of Lewis Run, is the son of the late Dorothy and Burley L. Ward. He graduated from Charleston High School, Tioga County, in 1932. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired in 1974 from the Wellsboro Post Office.
They are the parents of two sons, Robert L., Perry, Ga., and Thomas R., Columbia, S.C., and two daughters, Sylvia Wilson, Mansfield, and Diane Jackson, Huntingdon. There are 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
