WELLSBORO - Six people were charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants recently, including one who was allegedly under the influence of bath salts.
According to documents filed with Wellsboro and Mansfield district courts they are,
Jason A. Ayers, 33, of 635 Prouty Road, Austin, also charged by Wellsboro police Dec. 11 and with endangering the welfare of children and possession of a firearm without a license.
The arrest occurred after Ayers approached police in the parking lot of the Tops market saying he had injected bath salts and that his wife was cheating on him and the other guy was hiding in the vehicle with her and their 4-year-old son. The court ordered toxicology reports from the National Medical Services Lab, Willow Grove.
Ayers was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail and his preliminary hearing set for Dec. 20.
Zachary J. Geist, 26, of 1317 North Road, Westfield, also charged by Wellsboro police and with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer after police attempted a traffic stop Sept. 9 on Charleston Street.
He was issued a summons to appear at a Jan. 17 preliminary hearing.
Shane M. Cannon, 23, of 47 Fourth St., Mansfield, charged by Wellsboro police following a traffic stop on Charleston Street Dec. 2. He was issued a summons to appear.
Kenneth L. Glatfelter, 71, of 353 Broughton Hollow Road, Wellsboro, charged by state police after he crashed his car on Route 287, Delmar Township Nov. 1. He was issued a summons to appear.
Ray R. Boltz, 80, of Lititz, charged by state police he crashed his car on Route 362, Shippen Township Nov. 4. He was issued a summons to appear.
Lacey D. Christley, 22, of 7895 Route 6, Lot 8, Wellsboro, charged by state police after she crashed her car on Route 287 in Tioga Township Nov. 13. She was issued a summons to appear.
