December 15, 2011
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

WELLSBORO - Elisha A. Moroney, 31, of 1324 Walnut St., Jersey Shore, was charged with identity theft, receiving, retail theft, and criminal solicitation to commit retail theft by Wellsboro police.

According to court documents, Moroney - while an employee at the Acorn Market, 97 East Ave. and Jackson Street, Wellsboro - activated three phone cards for a total of $180, and gave them to Kenneth Harvey and Teresa Thomas.

She then placed the receipts under the cash register without taking any money on Nov. 1.

Moroney also was found by police to be in possession of a passport, Social Security card, and driver's license belonging to Amy Thomas, who did not authorize Moroney to have them.

Moroney waived her preliminary hearing and her court arraignment was set for Jan. 2.
