Pedestrian hit, injured on Cement Hollow Road

JERSEY SHORE - A woman walking a dog with a friend on Cement Hollow Road was struck by a car and seriously injured about 5:45 p.m. Friday, according to emergency personnel.

The woman and her friend were heading east along the road when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle, responders said.

"She was alert and talking, but she suffered head trauma as well as lower body trauma," one responder told the Sun-Gazette.

The woman, whose identity was not available, was taken by ambulance to a landing zone in Antes Fort, where she was placed on a helicopter and flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. State police are investigating the crash.
