The Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary recently fulfilled a pledge of $200,000 made in 2008 toward the renovation and expansion of the hospital as part of Susquehanna Health's Project 2012.
It was the largest donation the MVH Auxiliary has pledged to date and it was satisfied early through funds raised by various events including the annual Lights of Love, Muncy Valley Hospital Lawn Party, Muncy Valley Hospital Golf Tournament, Crystal Lake Challenge, proceeds from the gift shop, book, uniform and vending machine sales and fundraisers sponsored by Susquehanna Health service partners.
The $200,000 donation to Project 2012 helped to support renovations to the Muncy Valley Hospital's second floor.
"I am overwhelmed by the Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary's continued dedication and support as well as the community and employee and physician service partners whose participation in these fundraisers allowed us to achieve these results earlier than anticipated," said Muncy Valley Hospital President Chris Ballard.
Since 2005, the Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary has donated more than $223,500 in support of various projects and equipment purchases for the hospital.
"The money that we donated to Project 2012 came from a lot of different places including the community and Susquehanna Health service partners," explained past Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary President Vivian Mills. "We live in a very caring community. This was such a community project and we couldn't have done it without them."
