Arthritis workshop set
The Campbell Street Community Center will hold an arthritis workshop at 1 p.m. today. It will be led by staff from Loyalsock Chiropractic.
The workshop is geared toward seniors; however, all ages are welcome.
Blood drive scheduled

Nursing exam scheduled
TOWANDA - The practical nursing program at the Northern Tier Career Center, 120 Career Center Lane, will administer a pre-entrance exam at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday and Feb. 15.

ACLS recertification offered
WELLSBORO - Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital will hold a one-day recertification Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) class for registered nurses, physicians and paramedics from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the conference room.
The ACLS provider course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia arrest. The instructors will be Dr. Donald Shaw and Linda Patterson.

Hospital to hold annual
public board meeting
Lock Haven Hospital and its Board of Trustees will hold an annual public board meeting at
5:30 p.m. Jan. 23 in the hospital's Conference Rooms A and B. Light refreshments will be served.
The board will outline the hospital's:
2011 community and economic impact;
Commitment to physician and nursing staff;
Emergency Department center of excellence;
Growth and expansion;
Goals and plans for 2012.

Lecture topic is IBS
Dr. Gregory Pais, who is board certified in homeopathy by the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians, will lead a one-hour lecture on "Healing From Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Natural Approach for Success" at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at Solley Chiropractic, 580 E. Third St.

Educational cancer seminars set
BLOOMSBURG - Geisinger will hold three educational cancer seminars on Jan. 31. The 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. seminars will be held at the Bloomsburg YMCA, 30 E. Seventh St.
Community nurse navigator Cheryl Blewett, of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, will present each session and discuss personal risk and lifestyle factors, prevention, screening, genetic counseling options and treatment options.
Beverly Tenenholz, genetics counselor at GMC, will offer free genetic assessments to attendees, which allow them to estimate their personal cancer risk.
The event is presented by Geisinger and the NCI Community Cancer Centers Program to enhance the level of patient support services provided in local communities.
