Couple observes 40th anniversary

Mr., Mrs. James Joseph Kita are observing their 40th wedding anniversary Jan. 22, 2012.

They were married by the Rev. Gerald Wasko at Annunciation Church. They are members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish (Annunciation).

Mrs. Kita, the former Jeanette Marie McCloskey, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of Robert E. Lewis, Williamsport, and the late Lillian (Marie) Lewis. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1971 and is employed by Williamsport Regional Medical Center as a unit clerk in the emergency department.

MR., MRS. JAMES KITA

Mr. Kita, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Leona and John Kita. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1967 and received an associate degree in business management from the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1969. He served in the Army from 1969 to 1971 and was stationed in Bad Kissinger, Germany, with the B Battery 2/41 Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division. He retired and works part time for ARAMARK as a central supply clerk.

They are the parents of a daughter, Tracy M., and a son, Jeffrey M., both of Williamsport.

In honor of their anniversary, a celebration dinner, hosted by their family and friends, was held at Mulberry Street Cafe. They also are planning a family cruise to the Bahamas in October.
