Announcement has been made of the engagement of Leanne Kathryn Buhite and Alexander Edward Waring.
A summer wedding in Virginia is being planned.
Buhite is the daughter of Marilyn and Terry Buhite, Reynoldsville. She graduated from DuBois Area High School and received a bachelor's degree in labor and industrial relations from Penn State University in 2004. She served in the Army and is employed as a Department of Army Civilian for the Intelligence and Security Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.

Waring is the son of Ann and Robert Waring, Williamsport. He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School and received a bachelor's degree in political science from Penn State University in 2002. He is a captain in the Army and is pursuing a master's degree in public policy at George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.
