Announcement has been made of the engagement of Melissa Ann Karschner and Sean David Foster, both of Montoursville.
A Dec. 29 wedding at Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville, is being planned.
Karschner is the daughter of Pamela and Dale Karschner, Montoursville. She graduated from Montoursville Area High School in 2000. She received a bachelor's degree in biology from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, in 2004 and a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Delaware, Newark, Del., in 2006. She is employed by Susquehanna Health as a physical therapist.

Foster is the son of Marilyn and James Foster, Montoursville. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1989 and is employed by the state Department of Transportation, Montoursville, as a materials inspector.
