Announcement has been made of the engagement of Vanessa L. Vest and Timothy J. Shellman Jr., both of Summerville, S.C.
An April 28 wedding at the Woodlands Resort, Wilkes-Barre, is being planned.
Vest is the daughter of Patricia and Vince Vest, Larksville. She graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School, Plymouth, in 2005 and received a master's degree in rehabilitative sciences from Clarion University in 2010. She is employed by the Behavioral Health System in North Charleston, S.C., as a substance abuse counselor.

Shellman is the son of Debra and Timothy Shellman, Cogan Station. He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 2005 and received a bachelor's degree in secondary education: social studies, with a minor in athletic coaching from Clarion University in 2009. He is employed by Berkeley Middle School, Moncks Corner, S.C., as an eighth-grade social studies teacher.
