They were married by the Rev. James Singer at the chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.
Mrs. McElwee, the former Beverly Crawford, is a native of Bloomsburg. She is the daughter of the late Ruth and Floyd Crawford. She graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1961 and was a Realtor for various offices in the Williamsport area until her retirement in 1985.
Mr. McElwee, a native of Bloomsburg, is the son of the late Bernice and George McElwee. He graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1958 and served in the Army from 1958 to 1960. He retired in 1985 as a truck driver with ARCO.

They are the parents of two sons, Kurt and Kevin, both of Muncy, and a daughter, Kristy Sheets, Hughesville. There are five grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a dinner was held Jan. 18 at Cracker Barrel, Muncy.
