Anthony Jay Gorton, 21, of 286 Edgewood Avenue, suffered a "moderate head wound" after crashing his vehicle about 10 p.m. on Dec. 21 in the 100 Block of Valley Road, south of the intersection with East Village Drive,, police said.
Gorton was taken by ambulance to Williamsport Regional Medical Center for treatment, and a blood test revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.17, police allege in an affidavit.
According to Trooper Johnathan Buynak, who investigated the crash, a passenger, identified as Dylan Andrew Day, 18, "fled from the scene on foot prior to (his) arrival."
Police later located Day at his home in Nisbet and he acknowledged he was involved in the crash as a passenger.
According to the affidavit, Day "related that Gorton was the driver and that he (Day) had consumed alcoholic beverages (allegedly) provided by Gorton."
Gorton also faces five summary traffic violations and has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James H. Sortman.
Day, meanwhile, was charged by police with underage drinking, and entered a guilty plea and paid his fine, according to records at Sortman's office.
