Woman accused of altering prescription

February 2, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Williamsport woman faces charges after allegedly changing her prescription quantity from "20" to "120" Lortab, a controlled substance.

Erica Walter, 41, of 309 Grampian Blvd., was charged with forgery and possession of a controlled substance through fraud or deception.

According to an affidavit, city police were alerted to the situation on June 10 after Walter attempted to have her prescription filled at the Wegmans pharmacy and asked the pharmacist "if he was able to fill the 'large quantity.' "

The affidavit alleges that Walter "claimed that she had altered the prescription to assist her father with obtaining pain medication; as he had misplaced his." However, police said Walter's father denied his daughter's story.

Walter is free on $10,500 bail.
