Newberry Lioness Club holds annual holiday party

February 5, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The Newberry Lioness Club recently entertained residents of Hope Enterprises during the annual Christmas party. The residents were served pizza and soda with snacks.

Afterward, they joined in Christmas carols with Rhoda Hall playing the piano. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus came to visit each of the participants, who was given a goodie bag to take home.

The Lioness Club has hosted the party at Hope for the past 20 years. Also in December, club members sold ham and cheese sandwhiches, which is a fundraiser held each month.

On March 3, the Newberry Lioness Club will celebrate its 27th year since its charter.

Lions and Lioness in the district, as well as the governor and past governors, will be invited to attend a celebration rock and roll sock hop at St. John-Newberry Methodist Church.

The event will feature jukebox music and awards will be given for the best outfits.
