Sick and tired

February 9, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

I am sick to death at the way this government is taking our country down. This administration has declared war on our states, our healthcare, and even our citizens. But, it seems that few in Washington seem to be fighting for the common man. And while our elected officials are comfortable with their pay raises and pensions, we hear too good to be true numbers about our economy. We are broke and the people are hurting. There is no more time to wait for the next election after this one.

I'm also tired of the inaction on our southern border. As the drug cartels creep farther and farther into the states, they give sanctuary to our foreign enemies who want to destroy us. And now our military is being infiltrated by those who would do our citizens harm. And for what? Recruitment quotas? Ask any serviceman if he or she sees evidence of this. This should be of concern to everyone.

The Oath of Office and the hand on the Bible seem to have become irrelevant along with the principles of the Constitution. In 2013 it may be the beginning of "1984" if the citizenry doesn't stop asking for more and more government.
