Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Klees, Williamsport, are observing their 60th wedding anniversary today, Feb. 12, 2012.
They were married at the American Embassy, Tokyo, Japan.
Mrs. Klees, the former Tetsuko "Judy" Yoshida, is a native of Sendai, Japan. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harugi Yoshida. She graduated from Sendai High School, Sendai, in 1949. She retired from GTE, Williamsport, in 1993.
Mr. Klees, a native of Montoursville, is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Klees Sr. He graduated from Montoursville Area High School in 1948. He served in the Army for 27 years through the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Army in 1975 and from Sears in 1990.
They are the parents of twin daughters, Bonnie Lenyard, Phoenix, Ariz., and Connie Stinson, Mountain Lake, N.J. There are four grandchildren.
