Announcement has been made of the engagement of Jamie Engel Salvucci and Staff Sgt. Joshua David Distelhorst, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.
A May 12 wedding in Pittsburgh is being planned.
Salvucci is the daughter of Mary and Warren J. (WJ) Choate, Montoursville. She graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 2005 and received a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in international business from Penn State University's Smeal College of Business, State College, in 2009. She is employed by the Army as an administrative assistant in Manhattan, N.Y.

Distelhorst is the son of Sandra Distelhorst, Racine, Ohio. He graduated from Southern High School, Racine, in 2000 and received an associate degree in fitness management from Hocking College, Nelsonville, Ohio, in 2004. He joined the Army in 2004 and was with the 82nd Airborne from 2005-08. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006-07 and was stationed in Iraq for 15 months. He has served with the NYC recruiting battalion since 2008 and became station commander in August 2011. He is employed by the Army as a recruiting station commander in Elmhurst, N.Y.
