Ecumenical luncheon

United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. This Wednesday Robert and the Rev. Gwen Bernstine, presidential hobbiests, will help celebrate our presidents during the week we celebrate Presidents Day. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for. Ash Wednesday will be celebrated at 1 p.m. immediately following Ecumenical Lunch with a Communion Service and Imposition of Ashes in the Sanctuary. The service is open to the public.

Devotion line

The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 322-5762. The devotionalist next week will be the Rev. Gwen Bernstine, a member of First Baptist Church in Williamsport and the executive director of United Churches.
