Guest speaker from Iran
MIFFLINBURG - Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, a former Muslim from Iran, will be the guest speaker during the 9:15 a.m. Sunday school and 10:30 a.m. worship service at the Mifflinburg Alliance Church, 1.2 miles north of Route 45 off Forest Hill Road. JERSEY SHORE - St. John Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., will offer a 6 a.m. service in its chapel. A joint service with the other Lutheran churches will be held at 7 p.m. at Garman Lutheran Church, Avis, with Holy Communion and the Imposition of Ashes.
St. Joseph the Worker Parish will hold a Lenten fish dinner from 4-7 p.m. at the Annunciation Fleming Center, 720 W. Fourth St. featuring baked haddock, macaroni and cheese or scalloped potatoes, vegetable, cole slaw, applesauce, roll and butter, dessert and beverage. Adult tickets are $7.50 in advance or $8 at the door and children under 10 are $4. Takeouts available. Advance tickets are available at the parish office at 711 W.
