February 21, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals officially launched its 2013 PAWtraits Pet Calendar Contest. Entries for the annual contest are being accepted now.

The public contest display will be open at the Lycoming Mall on March 7. This is the sixth year for the pet calendar contest featuring photos submitted by local pet owners. Entries will be accepted through May 14.

The contest display features photos of locally owned pets. The top 12 photos that receive the most monetary votes will then appear in the 2013 calendar printed and distributed by the Lycoming County SPCA.

Contest winners will be officially announced June 3 during the SPCA-Clear Channel Communication's Pet Expo at Indian Park, Montoursville.

In addition to the monetary votes being collected at the Lycoming Mall, calendar contest participants also can raise extra votes or donations on their own. Sponsors may view the contest entries and place their monetary votes on the SPCA website at www.lycomingspca.org or on the SPCA's Facebook page.

The deadline for submitting donations to be counted as votes is 2 p.m. May 14 at the Lycoming County SPCA. Entry forms are available at the SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, and at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, 252 West Fourth St., during business hours.
