From now through March 2, Masteller and Co. Hair Salon, 236 Basin St., will give a 10 percent discount on all services to anyone who donates money to help Chris Potter as part of a 5K run-walk being held to raise money for his family.
"This is such a good cause. If it were my family, I'd want someone to help," said Kelly Masteller, owner of Masteller and Co.
Potter, 42, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2009. He and his wife, Heather, have three young children. Before being diagnosed with leukemia, Potter was active in teaching and coaching.
The 5K event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 3 at the Montour Preserve in Washingtonville. Awards will be presented. Runners may register on event day and participants will receive a T-shirt.
