Titanic-era clothing program set locally

February 26, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Lisa Lewis, known as the Victorian Lady, from West Pittson, will display clothing from the age of the sinking of the Titanic at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Woman's Club, 414 Walnut St.

Lewis' clothing collection will be available for viewing by the members of the Clio Club and the Woman's Club at that time. In addition, Lewis will speak about the fashions near the time of the Titanic's doomed sailing, which occurred 100 years ago next month.

Lewis began her collection of Victorian clothing in 2002 when she sought ways to entertain her friends in a unique setting. She started by providing formal teas for her friends and family as she dressed in period costumes.

Lewis is writing a book, titled "The Fashionable Victorians," due to be published this year.

Those who would like to attend the meeting may call Debra Walls at 323-3489.
