The driver of a 1996 Kenworth trash hauler suffered minor injuries Saturday morning when his rig went out of control and crashed after its right front tire blew out in the northbound lanes of Route 15, just north of the White Deer interchange, state police said.
Kenneth S. Robinson, 39, of Nescopeck, was treated at the Evangelical Community Hospital for injuries suffered when the truck went down an embankment and flipped on its right side about 10 a.m., police said.
The clean-up continued well into the night, police added.
In another area crash, John R. Young, 61, of Montoursville, was treated at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries suffered when his pickup truck crashed in the 5300 block of Lycoming Mall Drive in Fairfield Township about 4 p.m. Thursday, state Trooper Travis C. Pena said.
Young's eastbound truck initially struck the curb and a mailbox on the south side of the road and then crossed both lanes before striking the Huffman's Office Equipment building, Pena said.
The vehicle hit a second curb and traveled another 200 feet, landing in the front yard of the First Christian Church of Montoursville, the trooper added.
