How things have changed

March 13, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

I am writing this in response to the letter entitled "Where did it go?" by Franklin Cramm. How times have changed. Times started to change when Madaline Murray O'Hare had the Bible reading taken out of the schools. That's when people (kids included) showed no respect for anybody. And as far as people respecting their neighbors, that's a thing of the past. Here in the project where I live, there is no respect. They walk in on neighbors without rapping on the doors, slam the front doors that it makes me just about jump out of my skin, etc. And you very seldom if ever hear "You're welcome", "Please", "Thank you". And with the last school shooting in Ohio, what happened to the respect in schools. The shooting would've never happened 30 plus years ago. I feel sorry and worry about what this world is coming to.
