TODAY

Old fashioned dip meal

ELIMSPORT - Elimsport United Methodist Church, 16145 S. Route 44, will hold an old fashioned dip meal from 4-6:30 p.m. A "dip" (serving) of meat or main dish will be just $2.50, along with 75 cent "dips" of hot and cold side dishes. Bottomless hot and cold beverages will be available for 75 cents and dinner rolls for 25 cents. Smaller dips, at a discounted price, are available for children 10 and under. Takeouts also are available. This month features a choice of roast turkey or roast beef and/or a ham barbecue sandwich.

Corned beef and cabbage dinner

LAIRDSVILLE - St. Mark's Church, six miles east of Hughesville on Route 118, will serve a public dinner of corned beef and cabbage with sides and dessert or vegetable soup from 2-7 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted.

Easter egg sale

WATSONTOWN - The Women's Fellowship of Trinity United Church of Christ, 602 Main St., is offering homemade Easter eggs for sale (peanut butter in milk chocolate, coconut creme in dark chocolate). Weekday sales are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until Monday and 5-7 p.m. starting Tuesday through March 30. Call 538-4521 or 847-2551 to place orders.

Women's Ministries Day

Trinity Assembly of God Church, 332 Loyalsock Ave. in Montoursville, will celebrate Women's Ministries Day and ladies will be in charge of the 10 a.m. worship service. The theme of the service is "Love Revealed," which will be presented with a skit, music and special guest speaker Mary E. Baker.

St. Joseph Christian Women meet

The Christian Women of St. Joseph the Worker Parish will meet at 3 p.m. in the Castellano Center. The speaker will be The Rev. David Bechtel. Plans will be finalized for the craft show March 24 in the Fleming Center.

Iron Chef competition

St. Mark's Lutheran Church will defend its title of Iron Chef Williamsport against the Balls Mills United Methodist Church challenger as a way to raise money for Family Promise of Lycoming County. The fourth annual event begins at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Mark's, 142 Market St., with a dinner consisting of a salad, chicken monterey, green beans, baby red potatoes and roll with a chocolate indulgence for dessert to those with reservations.

Hymn sing

TROUT RUN - Beech Valley United Methodist Church, Calvert Road, will hold a hymn sing starting at 6:30 p.m. Special guest will be Jack Snyder. Refreshments will be served in the community hall immediately following the program.

Tony Melendez in concert

Tony Melendez, an internationally known musician will perform free in concert at 7 p.m. at St. Boniface Church, 326 Washington Blvd. A free-will offering will be accepted after the concert.

MONDAY

Senior citizens luncheon

All Saints Episcopal Church, 1656 Scott St., will hold a senior citizens lunch at noon featuring corned beef and cabbage. For more information, call 316-0191.

Women's Aglow

The Women's Aglow of Williamsport/Montoursville will meet at the Trinity Assembly of God Church, 332 N. Loyalsock Ave. in Montoursville, at 6:30 p.m.

Gloria Spotts, president of the Lock Haven Lighthouse Fellowship, will be the guest speaker and will present a program on prayer.

MONDAY-APRIL 1

Easter egg sale

JERSEY SHORE - Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Main St., will sell homemade peanut butter and coconut Easter eggs through April 1. Cost is $8 per pound. Eggs may be purchased at the church or several local businesses. Proceeds will benefit the missions of the church. For more information, call 398-1909.

Lenten education programs

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 100 Walnut St. in Montoursville, will offer two Lenten presentations describing the Jewish Traditions of Passover and their relevance to Christianity. The topics are part of the parish's Lenten Adult Education Program. The first evening's topic at 7 p.m. today will feature Rabbi Shaul A. Rappeport, of Congregation Ohev Sholom Synagogue in Williamsport. At 7 p.m. March 29, presenting the second night of study will be the Rev. Dr. J. Morris Smith, the Shepherd of the Streets, whose presentation will be a description of Christ's physical suffering.

MARCH 22

Free anniversary dinner

West End Community Center second anniversary dinner 11 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and vegetables. Free. Donations welcome. In the last year the center served 15,004 meals. Also, an Easter dinner is scheduled from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 5. Center lunch times are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Retirees eat free

Free lunch will be offered for any retirees at noon at Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 900 Elm St. All retirees welcome; free-will donations accepted. Blood pressure screening provided.

Easter musical drama

BLANCHARD - The Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., will present "The King of Kings" Easter drama at 7 p.m. March 23, 24 and 25 and March 30, 31 and April 1. "?The King of Kings" is a musical drama depicting the entire life of Jesus Christ through music, dramatic narration and scripture. Advance free tickets are available by calling the church office at 962-2423 or by stopping in the church office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon or 1-3 p.m. Tickets also will be available at the church office on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. or on Sunday mornings after worship services in the church lobby. Daniel's closet

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1101 Washington Blvd., will hold a Daniel's Clothing event from 9-11 a.m. Clean seasonal clothing will be accepted at 5:30 p.m. March 22 at the church only. Use the basement stairway on Washington Boulevard. Items are not to be dropped off at the parsonage.

Intercessory prayer

Join us as we pray for our city, church, loved ones, nation and friends at 6 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 734 W. Fourth St.

1950s sock hop

New Covenant United Church of Christ, 202 E. Third St., will hold a sock hop from 6-10 p.m. at the church. Come dressed in the '50s style ready to remember those poodle skirts, duck bill haircuts, and slow dancing to real music on 45s. 1950s-style food will be available for purchase. Suggested donation is $5 a couple, $3 single. All proceeds benefit the mission trip of New Covenant.
