BLOOMSBURG - On April 17, the 16th Senior Health and Lifestyle Expo will be held in the Industrial Arts Building of the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
Representatives of the top companies that provide products and services of interest to folks age 40 and older will be on hand to answer questions and provide the latest information to visitors.
The fun begins at 7:30 a.m. with a free early bird breakfast provided by Weis Markets in the Boomers Cafe and Lounge. Lunch, including pig roast sandwiches, will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Miss Pennsylvania 2011 Juliann Sheldon is the guest hostess and will be on hand to meet and greet all visitors. Prior to her crowning, she was the reigning Miss Jewel of the West when she won the state crown. The Point Park University student represented Pennsylvania at the Miss America 2012 pageant in January in Las Vegas.
The expo also will feature free seminars.
Geisinger orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Steven Lillmars will present the seminar, "Current Treatment for Hip and Knee Arthritis," at 9 a.m. At Geisinger, Lillmars specializes in total hip and knee replacement surgery and foot and ankle surgery.
At 10 a.m., Humana will present the program, "Insurance Options." The seminars are free and visitors may register right at the Expo.
Entertainment will be provided by singer-songwriter KJ, who will perform folk music and songs. Powerhouse Sound also will play.
A benefit raffle will be held for Children's Miracle Network, Janet Weis Children's Hospital, Danville, with prizes donated by exhibitors and local merchants.
The drawings for raffle prizes will be conducted by Miss Pennsylvania and awarded at the expo.
Exhibitors also will offer booth drawings for useful gifts and prizes and have lots of free goodies to take home. Guests who register by noon will be entered into a drawing for $100 cash prize drawn by Miss Pennsylvania at 1 p.m.
Another Senior Health and Lifestyle Expo is scheduled for May 1 at the Silvermoon Banquet Hall in Lewisburg.
