Adults 55 and older who want to learn something new may enroll in noncredit classes being offered this spring at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro.
Computer Camp for Seniors will be held in the North Campus computer lab from 9 a.m. to noon April 24 and 26.
The instructor will lead participants through entertaining games, emailing friends and family, surfing the Internet, buying and selling merchandise on eBay, basic word-processing for letter-writing, and other enjoyable and practical applications. The class is fun and paced for the novice. The cost is $79.
Computer Camp for Seniors Part 2 will be held in the computer lab from 9 a.m. to noon May 21 and 23. This is a continuation of the topics learned in the first class with the addition of social media websites, another fun way to connect with friends and family. The cost is $79.
Consider leaving a legacy for your children and grandchildren by writing about your life experiences. Preserving Your Life Story is a class that will help you begin to write. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon May 10 to May 31. The course is for beginners, as well as those who have some writing experience. The cost is $85.
If you just want to have some fun and learn a new craft while getting those family photos out of the closet and into projects you can display, Intro to Scrapbooking for Seniors is for you. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 15. The cost is $25.
Classes are offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College and are developed specifically for seniors; however, adults of all ages are welcome to register.
The North Campus is along Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield.
