Free Expectant Parents class planned
WELLSBORO - Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital will hold a free Expectant Parents class from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the hospital board room.
The class, titled "What to Expect After Baby's Birth," is part of a cycle of classes addressing common questions and concerns of expectant parents, including labor and delivery, C-sections, breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, swaddling, physical and emotional changes, and newborn needs. Participants may attend classes at any time during the cycle.

Learn about dangers of diabetes
Health care professionals will celebrate Diabetes Alert Day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today at the Lycoming Mall's LifeCenter. Attendees can learn about diabetes, prevention, how to reduce cholesterol levels and healthy living through presentations, screenings and interactive displays.
A dietitian and certified diabetes educator will address nutritional concerns and answer questions about caring for yourself or a loved one who has diabetes. Take advantage of free screenings, including a diabetic foot screening, glucose testing, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen testing, total cholesterol and BMI testing.
A1C testing will be offered for $20 and a complete lipid panel is available for $37 (requires a 12-hour fast).
Refreshments will be served. Free educational sessions include:

11:30 a.m. - Eating Healthy to Prevent and Manage Diabetes with MyPlate; and

Specialist to discuss arthritis, fibromyalgia
SELINSGROVE - Dr. Thomas Harrington, assistant director of the Department of Rheumatology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, will present a lecture on arthritis and fibromyalgia at 5 tonight in the Degenstein Campus Center at Susquehanna University.
Harrington will present "Doc, I Hurt All Over: Is it Arthritis, Fibromyalgia or Something Else?" It will address rheumatologic conditions, the importance of accurate diagnosis and treatment and how to live pain-free.

LHU to hold health fair
Lock Haven University will hold its annual Campus and Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Recreation Center.
More than 35 exhibitors are expected to attend. Free health screenings, assessments and give-aways will be available.
Chair yoga for seniors
Men and women age 60 or older who want to feel more refreshed may sign up for chair yoga classes from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays from April 2 to May 7 at the Mansfield Senior Center or Wednesdays from April 4 to May 9 at Pinnacle Towers in Wellsboro.
