Total Sports and Activity Center has arrived just in time for the call of "play ball."
The recreation facility, catering mostly to baseball players looking to hone their hitting and pitching skills, opened in March at the west end of Williamsport.
The 9,000-square-foot building at 2925 W. Fourth St. features six batting cages, a pair of pitching mounds and plenty of space for other recreational activities.

"We have been working on this for six years," said co-owner Tom Ott. "We saw a need."
Ott and his partner, Al House wanted to establish a place where Little Leaguers and other amateur baseball and softball players could take batting practice and throw balls.
Both are former amateur ballplayers.

"We played the game. We love the game," Ott said.
The two are happy about setting up their business in Newberry near Williamsport High School and just a long home run from Logue Field.
After securing a special variance to locate their business in a light industrial area of the city, the two set about preparing their business.
"The city of Williamsport has been great," House said.
With a lush carpet of artificial grass covering the floor and, of course, the batting cages, the place has the look of a true baseball workout facility.
"We laid the turf ourselves," House said.
The site also includes state-of-the art workout equipment and a concession stand.
The two offer private baseball instruction and eventually hope to open camps and clinics for baseball players.
Although the primary focus is baseball, they also want to make the facility available for other sports training including soccer and wrestling.
They plan to sell baseball bats and other equipment.
"We are excited about it," Ott said.
Added House: "It's been a long time dream."
Ample parking on the east side of the building makes it very customer friendly, the owners said.
