MANSFIELD - State police here are investigating a rash of burglaries that happened over the past two weeks.
According to police three residences in Richmond, Jackson and Covington townships were burglarized in broad daylight while residents were not at home.
Sometime between March 21 and March 23, someone took $550 cash and a Canon digital camera from Jane Andreason, 47, of Millerton.
On March 24, someone broke into the residence of Barbara Rundell, 72, of Richmond Township by kicking in the back door and took $3,436 worth of valuables.
On March 29, someone attempted to kick in the rear door of a Cherry Flats Road residence in Covington Township, but failed, so they broke a window in the rear of the residence to gain entry, police said.
Once inside, they took a lap top computer, an Xbox 360 video game system and two jewelry boxes.
Residents are asked to be alert for unusual activity or people in and around the area during daylight hours and to contact 911.
