Mr. and Mrs. Galen Ryder, Muncy, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary April 14, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Thomas McQuillen at Moreland Baptist Church, Muncy, where they are members.
Mrs. Ryder, the former Mary Lee Dink, is a native of Coatesville. She is the daughter of the late Mabel and Elmer Dink. She graduated from Hughesville High School in 1960. She received a Licensed Practical Nurse degree from the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1983 and a certificate for program coordinator and primary instructor for nursing assistants from Penn State University in 1998. She retired from several local nursing homes in 2004 as a LPN and certified nursing assistant instructor.

Mr. Ryder, a native of Hughesville, is the son of the late Bessie and Thomas Ryder. He graduated from North-Mont High School, Turbotville, in 1955. He served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1964, including 18 months in Alaska. He retired in 1999 after 33 years of service from Agway, Hughesville, as a heating ventilation and air conditioning master technician.
They are the parents of three sons, Jeffrey, Muncy; Darryl, Telford: and Michael, New Cumberland.
There are seven grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., and a family dinner at Country Cupboard, Lewisburg, is being planned by their sons.
