Frank L. Ickes, 79, of Loyalsock Township, and a guest at ManorCare Health Services, North, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the home. He was born July 11, 1932, in Montoursville, a son of Franklin E. and Susie Reedy Ickes.
Frank retired in 1992 from American National Can, and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the H.R. Dickson.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Donna R. Kimbler; his daughter, Karen L. (Michael) Chiodo of Strasburg, Pa.; three stepchildren, Debra R. (Steve) Younts of Lansing, N.C., Candace L. Graham of Montrose, Pa., and Randy W. (Francine) Graham of Muncy. He is also survived by a sister, Jeanne Preston of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Emily (Zach) Frenzel, and Sarah and Michael Chiodo.
He was predeceased by four brothers, two sisters and a stepson.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Thomas P. Reeder officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Divine Providence Foundation for Alzheimer's Support Group of Divine Providence Hospital, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
