I drive to Muncy almost every day to work from the Faxon area. For weeks the highway was trashed with litter. I wondered how long it would take for someone to clean it up.
Last week while driving to work I noticed at least 4 or 5 PennDOT trucks out there with workers out on the highway cleaning up. It's about time. The more I think about it the more I am bothered by the fact that we are paying workers top dollar to clean up litter. Why?
We have perfectly good people on probation and community service who could get out there and do it. What about the people at the pre-release center? I still can't believe it took a month to clean it up. But thankful it is.
