A one-day leadership development event featuring prominent people from the worlds of business, news, literature, education and sports will be broadcast live May 4 at the Community Theatre League, 100 W. Third St., Williamsport.
The Chick-fil-A Leadercast, airing live from Atlanta, is being shown at hundreds of sites nationwide including locally for the first time.
"One of the things were are missing in this country is leadership training," said Vito P. Sylvester, president and CEO of Manufacturers' Business Development Network Inc., Williamsport.
Sylvester noted that each of the speakers are effective leaders in their own fields.
The event, in its 12th year, will provide the opportunity for attendees to be exposed to people who have proven to be good leaders, he said.
Sylvester said there has been local interest about the event.

One reason for bringing the event to more people is to help save important industries such as manufacturing in the U.S.
"I have been in business for quite some time," he said. "And I think that leadership is one thing you cannot teach."

Urban Meyer, Ohio State University football coach and former coach of two-time national champion University of Florida.
Andy Stanley, best-selling leadership author and communicator.
Sheena Iyengar, author of "The Art of Choosing" and world-renowned expert of choice.
"I think it's a really good quality event," Sylvester said. "I think people will pick up a lot of good information in being an effective leader."
