Geraldine L. Swink, 89, a Lycoming County native and formerly of the Philadelphia area, passed away Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, at Manor Care Jersey Shore.
She was born in Watson Township, Lycoming County, Pa., on July 11, 1922, a daughter of George I. and Grace Stabley Carr. She was an accomplished musician and taught in three different studios and also privately. She played guitar, mandolin and violin. From 1961 to moving back to the Jersey Shore area in 2007, she resided near the "Main Line'' in Philadelphia. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jersey Shore.
Her survivors include one daughter, Maryann West of Avis; one son, Douglas Earl Swink of Arkansas; one brother, Norman Carr of Jersey Shore; and three grandchildren.
In keeping with Geraldine's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. The Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," of Jersey Shore, is handling the arrangements.
