Bikers from the Susquehanna Valley Big Twin Motorcycle Club recently donated 75 colorful spring and Easter-themed stuffed animals to be handed out to pediatric patients in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital’s emergency department in Wellsboro. Shown from left, back row, are club members Ron Shearer, of Woolrich, and Bubba Delaney, of Mill Hall; front row, registered nurses Carol Stewart and Sandy Pecynski, Linda Delaney, of Mill Hall, and Denise Shearer, of Woolrich. “When we arrived with the donations, there was a pediatric patient in the emergency department,” Ron Shearer said. “He picked out a big yellow duck, and when the staff were asking him if he was all right, he answered ‘Yeah, I’ve got a duck!’ with a smile. It was so great to see because we donate these stuffed animals in hope that it will put a smile on their faces.” The Susquehanna Valley Big Twin Motorcycle Club is a non-profit organization that has been donating to a variety of charities since 1986. The group of 72 members collects donations during an annual drive. This is the organization’s third year donating to SSMH. For more information on the club, call 367-6340.
