The Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania is accepting proposals for its first grant cycle of 2012. Applications must be received electronically by 5 p.m. May 4 to be considered.
Non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations located in and service the foundation's 13 county-service area - Lycoming, Bradford, Carbon, Clinton, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming counties - may submit proposals for health and wellness projects under the mini-grant, impact grant and access to health care for the uninsured and underinsured grant categories.

5 new providers join Jersey Shore practice
JERSEY SHORE - Primary care services in Clinton County now will be even more accessible. Jersey Shore Medical Associations, a physician practice group that is a partner of Jersey Shore Hospital and is owned by Jersey Shore Hospital Foundation Inc., is welcoming five new providers to its practice beginning April 30.
Dr. Paul Simpson, specializing in internal medicine, along with certified physician assistants Barbara Buckley, Nadine McGraw, Gene Schrack and Sandra Beck, will begin routinely seeing patients in Lock Haven at Tiadaghton Health Services, in the Clinton Bowling Lanes plaza, and at the NWD Professionals Building, 930 Bellefonte Ave.
The providers will be accepting patients, including adults and children, and will have convenient evening and weekend appointment hours.

Director of nursing completes continuing education training
MILTON - Kramm Health and Rehab Center, 743 Mahoning St., recently announced that Stacie McKee, director of nursing, earned continuing education credits during the Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (PADONA) convention.
The 24th annual convention was held March 28-30 at The Hotel Hershey.
McKee received 16.5 continuing educational credits approved by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.
PADONA is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the PSNA, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
"At Kramm Health and Rehab Center, we strive to provide quality care and valuable training resources to our staff," a spokesperson said, "thus allowing our nurses to continue to provide a higher standard of nursing care to our residents and their families."
