Williamsport Sun-Gazette

LEWISBURG - Randy Roberts Potts, grandson of televangelist Oral Roberts, will give the talk, "Growing Up Gay and Christian: How I Lived to Tell the Tale," at 7:30 tonight in Trout Auditorium of the Vaughan Literature Building at Bucknell University.

The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Chi Phi fraternity, the Office of LGBT Awareness, the Office of Multicultural Student Services, the Dean of Students office, Bucknell Protestant Ministries, Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council.

Potts spent the majority of his childhood and adult life closeted. He lived under the shadow of his famous grandfather on the family compound and watched his Uncle Ronnie struggle with his own sexuality, eventually taking his life after coming out to his father.

Potts has recorded a video for the famed "It Gets Better" project, and is participating in the publishing of their most recent book, a compilation of coming out success stories.

He will be actively touring the country, starring in his new performance art piece, "The Gay Agenda."
